The Army Day

Army Day is celebrated on 15th January every year in India. It is in recognition of Field Marshal K M. Cariappa’s taking over as the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army from General Sir Francis Butcher, the last British Commander-in-Chief of Indian Army, on 15th January 1949. The Army Day marks a day to salute the soldiers who sacrificed their lives to protect our country. This is the 70th Army day in the history of Free India.
